Tom Thumb 5

Tom Thumb 5 prompted a hog roast in the middle of February. Tired of gallery nibbles the founders roasted a 150 pound hog on a spit. This proved to be quite difficult in the dead of winter but by the 7:00 opening all temperature readings read 165 degrees. The hog was promptly taken to the kitchen for dismemberment. For Tom Thumb 5 the kitchen served as a graffiti installation apart from the "improve the art" outside on the garage. Kjell, Jimmy, and Dave, the three occupants of 603 First Street, invited neighborhood delinquents to spray paint the kitchen. In addition piles of garbage were added to severely contrast the pristine white walls in the gallery. Mimi Kato took part as she had done in previous Tom Thumb Gallery events.
