Sewing together inflatables requires a lot of planning. For my new work I have finished most of the planning and have transitioned into fabrication. This new work will be purple, orange and pink. It resembles a pile of fabric now but soon it will be roaming the streets of Vaasa.

I visited the Söderfjärden meteor crater just outside the village of Solf. The meteor struck nearly 520 million years ago. The crater is well preserved and in the 1930s farmers dug canals by hand to drain the crater. Now it is farmland and a sanctuary for migrating cranes. The rest of my luggage arrived this morning and I unpacked needed supplies into the studio. The lighting from the window is great and movable track lighting will help me get the rest of the studio lit. Now it is time to get to work.
